Usefull instructional podcasts V5, V5.5,V6HD

Refresher User Guide for "V5" earlier version

. The Nomadpdu V5 has been around for years now and entering second hand market where people are not reading instructions and assuming voltage profile or charge rates. The V5 is NMC lithium and is fully charged at 12.6 volt, it does not charge to 13.8 or 14.6 etc or more. If you charge with a solar controller at these higher voltages or other DCDC you will over time create an imbalance in the unit. The profile is Max 25amp charge and 12.6 profile. We talk about regulated and unregulated differences and how they effect the nomad and can damage them if incorrectly used. contact@nomadpdu.com.au if you are unsure about any aspect of connecting and setting them up. Instructions for the V5 are available to download off our website.

The V6HD 105ah (1344 WH) Prismatic boasts 100amp constant with battery poles to provide a 100amp constant output to a larger inverter say 1500 watt. V5.5 has 2-year warranty and the V6HD 3-year warranty, both with ACDC chargers and both capacities to be charged at 50amp regulated so perfect for the larger dual DCDC with solar inputs. Understanding Inverters when using accessories on 12 volt systems

If you intend running an inverter or inverters from your power plant , be it nomadpdu or other , you need to understand that they have limitations and there are many things to consider when using them , including size, how they are connected and what not to do. Never run your inverters at max for extended periods of time and why we don't recommend having inverters inside a battery pack. contact@nomadpdu.com.au

Using your Ciga DC as a Step Up for V5

The Nomad PDU  Ciga DC 5 or 10 amp 12.6 volt grab and go charger  options, or Anderson to DC configuration 10 or 20 amp gives you  the  options to not only charge your nomad , but run you fridge off the dcdc  when connecting the Nomad as the source. This means that you can run the  nomad completely flat and all the fridge will see is 12.6 volt. use a  DC option that is higher than the max draw of your fridge on start up,  an easy rule of thumb is if your fridge typically 50 litre or under  draws less than 5 amp then a 5amp ciga dc is fine or use the 10 or 20  amp dc options if you are at all concerned. A 100 litre fridge might  draw 9-10amp on start up and then back off when reaching cold.  www.nomadpdu.com.au
